Frequently asked questions
An estimate looked wrong. What do I do?
Open the meal and look at its breakdown. Circa lists each item, the quantity it assumed, and the assumption behind it — a portion judged from a photo, a thin layer of sauce, a teaspoon of oil. Usually one of those is the thing that is off.
Tap the pencil on the breakdown to open the amounts, set the quantity you actually ate, and the meal total moves with it before you save. If the meal itself was read wrongly rather than just measured wrongly, reword the description and re-estimate it instead. Rewording replaces the amounts you had set, so Circa asks first if you have changed any.
Estimates are estimates. Correcting one reduces the uncertainty in the part you corrected; it does not turn the meal into a measurement, which is why the estimate mark stays.
How do I save a meal and log it again?
Open a meal, use the menu beside the share icon, and choose Save meal. The saved version keeps the breakdown, the assumptions and any amounts you corrected.
Logging a saved meal again does not run a new analysis, so it does not use your AI allowance and it does not go back to being an estimate you have to correct twice.
How does Apple Health weight import work?
If you allow it, Circa reads your body weight from Apple Health over roughly the last 90 days, so your weigh-in history stays current without entering it twice. Imported weigh-ins are marked as having come from Health.
Circa never writes anything back to Apple Health — no weight, no calories, no nutrition — and it does not ask for permission to write. It reads no other Health data.
You can withdraw the permission at any time in the Health app or in iOS Settings. An imported weigh-in cannot be deleted inside Circa, because the next import would simply restore it; weigh-ins you entered by hand can be deleted.
What is included in Circa Pro?
Circa Pro includes up to 500 successful AI analyses per monthly usage cycle. The same 500-per-cycle allowance applies whether you subscribe monthly or yearly — a yearly subscription does not receive a year of analyses upfront, it gets 500 a month in cycles anchored to its annual period. Where an introductory offer is available it carries up to 50 analyses for the whole offer. How much of your allowance you have used is shown in the app; price and any offer are shown by Apple before you purchase.
A text analysis, a photo analysis, a retry, or re-estimating an existing meal each use one analysis. Failed analyses do not count. Logging a saved meal does not count. Correcting an amount on a meal you already logged does not count. Unused analyses do not roll over.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Circa Pro is billed by Apple, so cancellation happens in your Apple Account settings rather than inside the app. On your iPhone, open Settings, tap your name at the top, tap Subscriptions, select Circa, and choose Cancel Subscription.
Cancelling stops the next renewal. It does not end access immediately — Pro stays active until the end of the period you have already been charged for, and your logged meals stay in your account after the subscription lapses.
How do I restore a purchase?
Open the Circa paywall and choose Restore. Circa checks your Apple Account for an existing Circa Pro purchase and reactivates the entitlement.
Restoring works only with the Apple Account that made the original purchase. If you have signed in with a different one, switch back in Settings and try again. Access can take a short time to synchronize between Apple, RevenueCat and Circa's backend.
How do I delete my account?
In Circa, open your profile, choose Delete Account, and confirm. You are asked to sign in again first. The deletion removes your meal photos, your profile, your saved meals, your logged meals, your weigh-ins, your subscription state and your usage records, and then your sign-in account.
Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone, so note anything you want to keep beforehand. Deleting your account does not cancel an Apple subscription — cancel that separately if you have an active one.
