Circa Terms of Use

These Terms of Use govern your use of Circa. By creating an account or using Circa, you agree to them.

Circa is intended for adults aged 18 and older. Its targets are calculated from equations validated for adults, and the app does not let you complete setup with an age under 18. Age is self-reported and we do not verify it.

Circa is operated by Ahmad Ali Tariq in Pakistan. These terms supplement Apple's Standard End User License Agreement where it applies to your use of the iOS app.

Circa is a personal food journal. You describe a meal in your own words or photograph it, and Circa produces an estimated breakdown of its items, portions, calories and macronutrients, together with the assumptions behind them.

You can correct an estimate by changing item quantities or by describing a change in ingredients or preparation, and save the corrected version to log again later. Circa also calculates calorie and macronutrient targets from your profile and goal, records weigh-ins entered by hand or read from Apple Health, and can schedule local reminders.

Circa is not a medical device, healthcare provider, registered dietitian, diagnostic service, or provider of medical, nutritional or professional advice.

Nutrition figures in Circa are estimates. Food cannot always be identified from a photo or a short description, portion sizes and preparation are frequently uncertain, and the resulting calorie and macronutrient figures are approximate. The app marks estimated figures as estimated and shows the assumptions it made. Correcting or saving an estimate does not turn it into a measurement.

You are responsible for reviewing information before relying on it, particularly if you have allergies, a medical condition, a history of disordered eating, are pregnant or nursing, take medication, or follow a specialized diet. Consult a qualified healthcare or nutrition professional when appropriate.

Circa does not guarantee weight loss, weight gain, improved health, or any particular outcome.

You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for the information you submit. You must not upload content you do not have the right to use, or content that is unlawful, harmful, or infringes another person's rights.

You retain your rights in the content you submit. You grant us the limited permission needed to host, process, analyze, display and transmit it to the service providers that operate Circa, solely in order to provide and improve the service.

Circa Pro is available as an auto-renewable subscription. Apple displays the applicable price, currency, taxes, term and any introductory offer before you purchase, and those displayed terms govern. Prices, offers and availability can vary by storefront and may change.

Where an introductory offer is available, Apple determines eligibility based on your Apple Account and its purchase history in the Circa subscription group. Creating a new Circa account does not create new eligibility, and not every user will be offered one.

Payment is charged to your Apple Account. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled through Apple's subscription-management tools. Cancelling stops the next renewal and generally leaves access active until the end of the period you have already paid for. Deleting Circa, or deleting your Circa account, does not cancel an Apple subscription.

Restore Purchases uses your Apple Account and RevenueCat purchase information, and works only with the Apple Account that made the original purchase. Refunds and billing disputes are handled under Apple's policies. Subscription access can take a short time to synchronize between Apple, RevenueCat and Circa's backend.

Circa Pro includes up to 500 successful AI analyses per monthly usage cycle, applied as one combined allowance to text and photo analyses. The same 500-per-cycle allowance applies whether you subscribe monthly or yearly; a yearly subscription does not receive a year of analyses at once, it receives the same monthly allowance in cycles anchored to its annual period. Where an introductory offer is available, it carries up to 50 successful AI analyses for the whole of that offer rather than a daily figure, and that allowance does not reset during it.

A successful text analysis, photo analysis, retry, or re-estimate of an existing meal each consume one analysis. Failed analyses do not count. Logging a saved meal without a new analysis does not count. Correcting an amount on an existing meal does not count. Unused analyses do not roll over.

Reaching the allowance prevents further AI analyses until the next applicable cycle. The rest of the app remains available. Your current allowance and how much of it you have used are shown in the app.

You may not use Circa through automated or scripted means, attempt to bypass subscription or usage controls, share accounts or subscriptions in violation of applicable terms, interfere with the service, reverse engineer it except where law permits, or use it for unlawful, fraudulent, abusive or service-disrupting purposes.

We may suspend or terminate access where reasonably necessary to protect the service, its users, our service providers, or legal rights.

You can delete your account in the app. The deletion removes your meal photos from file storage, your usage-allowance records, your profile, logged meals, saved meals, weigh-ins and subscription state, and your sign-in account. Deletion is permanent and the data cannot be recovered.

Deleting your account does not cancel an Apple subscription. Some information may remain with Apple, RevenueCat, backups, security systems or operational records where needed for billing, fraud prevention, entitlement reconciliation, legal obligations or provider operations. The Privacy Policy sets this out in more detail.

Circa depends on network access and third-party services. Features, including AI analysis, may be unavailable, delayed, changed, paused or removed. We do not guarantee uninterrupted, error-free or permanent availability.

We may update these terms as Circa changes. The latest version will be available at this URL. Continued use after an updated version takes effect means you accept it, to the extent permitted by law.

Circa is provided on an as-is and as-available basis to the maximum extent permitted by law. We disclaim warranties that are not expressly given in these terms, including warranties of accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, and uninterrupted availability.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Ahmad Ali Tariq is not liable for decisions, injury, loss or damage resulting from reliance on estimates, inaccurate entries, service outages, data loss, subscription synchronization issues, or third-party services. Nothing in these terms limits rights that cannot legally be limited.

These terms are governed by the laws applicable in Pakistan, except where mandatory consumer-protection law in your place of residence provides otherwise.
