Frequently asked questions
How do I restore a purchase?
If you reinstalled SpendWise or set up a new iPhone, open the app, go to the Pro screen, and tap Restore Purchases. Your subscription is tied to the Apple Account that bought it, so make sure that account is signed in on the device before restoring.
If nothing is restored, check Settings, tap your name, tap Subscriptions, and confirm SpendWise appears there as active.
How do I manage or cancel SpendWise Pro?
Subscriptions are managed by Apple, not inside SpendWise. On your iPhone, open Settings, tap your name at the top, tap Subscriptions, select SpendWise, and choose the option to change or cancel your plan.
SpendWise cannot cancel a subscription or issue a refund on your behalf. Refund requests go through Apple. Cancelling stops the next renewal and leaves your access in place until the end of the period you have already paid for.
What does SpendWise Pro cost?
SpendWise Pro is sold through Apple as a monthly or yearly subscription, with a 14-day free trial for new subscribers. The current price for your region is shown in the App Store and on the in-app Pro screen before you confirm anything.
Free users can keep using SpendWise; the paywall appears only on the gated actions.
My data is not syncing between devices
SpendWise syncs through your own private iCloud account, so both devices need to be signed in to the same Apple Account with iCloud Drive on and SpendWise enabled in Settings, iCloud, then Apps Using iCloud.
Syncing is handled by Apple and can lag behind, particularly on a slow or metered connection or when iCloud storage is full. If iCloud is unavailable, SpendWise keeps working from local storage on the device and syncs later.
Opening the app on both devices while they are on Wi-Fi and leaving it open for a moment is usually enough to bring them back in line.
My widget is showing old numbers
Home Screen widgets refresh on their own schedule, roughly every 30 minutes, and again after you make changes in the app. iOS decides the exact timing, so a widget can briefly show figures from earlier in the day.
Opening SpendWise forces the widget to update. Widgets read from the same on-device store the app maintains and do not sync with iCloud themselves, so a widget on a second device reflects what that device has already synced.
How do credit card cycles work?
When you add a card you set a statement day and a due day. SpendWise treats the billing cycle as running from the statement day, and totals every expense you assigned to that card inside the current cycle.
The due date lands in the same month when the due day falls after the statement day. When the due day falls on or before the statement day, the due date rolls into the following month.
These figures are derived from what you enter, not from your card issuer. SpendWise never asks for card numbers, CVVs, or bank credentials, so always confirm real balances, statements, and payment due dates with your issuer.
I changed my currency and my totals look wrong
The currency setting changes the symbol SpendWise displays. It does not convert amounts you have already logged, because the app has no exchange rates and never contacts a pricing service.
An expense entered as 1,200 stays 1,200 after a currency change; only the symbol in front of it changes. If you need converted figures, edit the amounts by hand.
How do I delete all my data?
Open Settings inside SpendWise and choose Delete All Data. This clears your expenses, categories, monthly and category budgets, credit cards, and settings from the app's store on the device.
This cannot be undone, and there is no copy on our side to restore from. If iCloud sync is active, the deletion propagates to your other devices through iCloud.
How do I report a bug or request a feature?
Email support-spendwise@ahmadtariq.co. Bug reports are much easier to act on when they include your iPhone model, your iOS version, the SpendWise version, and the steps that led to the problem.
If the problem involves a widget, mention which of the three widgets it is and whether reopening the app changed anything. Feature requests are welcome and genuinely read.
SpendWise is a manual spending tracker. It does not connect to banks and does not provide financial advice.
